  1. ITIL Foundation Certification


The ITIL Foundation certification, the first and basic of all ITIL levels covers ITIL’s basics, which is where most newbies begin the ITIL learning process and become certified. There are no prerequisites for this ITIL level credential and anyone with a keen interest in the subject matter will sit for this test. 


ITIL Foundation Certification Training can be achieved through classroom or distance learning methods, as well as through self-study. You are not expected to complete a training course until you sit for the Foundations Test. The ITIL Foundation exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions that have to be answered in 60 minutes with a grade of 65 percent, or 26 correct answers, needed to pass the exam.

  1. ITIL Intermediate Level Certifications


The ITIL Intermediate certification is module-based, in which each module focuses on a distinctive aspect of IT service management. Relevant modules are categorized as either the service lifecycle modules or service capability modules.

In order to enable potential candidates to achieve their own career goals, the qualification can be obtained in one category or by selecting modules from both. We suggest you have at least two years of experience in running IT services. You must complete your preparation for the intermediate examination by completing a training course offered by an accredited training organization (ATO), i.e. you cannot self-study and sit for the intermediate examination afterward.   1. ITIL Expert Level Certification


ITIL Expert certification, ITIL level is a specialized qualification covering the breadth and complexity of ITIL processes and specific activities in all areas of ITIL. ITIL Expert certification remains a requirement for certification with ITIL Master. You must receive at least 17 credits from the Formation, Practitioner, and Intermediate modules to qualify for the ITIL Professional, and pass the Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC) test, awarding a total of 22 credits. 


  1. ITIL Master Level Certification 


The pinnacle of ITIL levels, ITIL Master Certification shows that the ITIL framework can be applied in real-world situations. The ITIL Master covers all ITIL concepts and processes protected by expert certifications in the Foundation. 

An ITIL Master must exercise absolute mastery of the ITIL framework by completing:

  • Achieve an ITIL Expert certification
  • Demonstrate at least five years of ITIL experience in a management or key leadership role
  • Submit an ambitious proposal for the improvement of service 
  • Submission of a work profile demonstrating the considerable ability to apply ITIL principles to a real-world business case, including positive impacts to a business service
  • Satisfactorily complete an extensive interview with an ITIL assessment panel
